Utku Dedetaş

Utku is an artist, lecturer, and designer working through memory, gathered narratives, and the fragile mechanics of reconstructed experience.

Utku Dedetaş was born in 1996 in Ankara. He completed his undergraduate studies in Industrial Design at Istanbul Bilgi University between 2014 and 2020. In 2024, he earned his master of fine arts degree from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Basic Art and Design.

Between 2017 and 2023, he worked in various fields as an illustrator, industrial designer, and storyboard artist. Since 2019, he has been creating as an independent artist in Istanbul. As of 2024, he has been working as a lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University’s Department of Industrial Design.

Focusing on dreams, everyday social encounters, and the collisions of gathered narratives, Dedetaş’s practice seeks to make the hidden intersections of our realities visible. His art explores the fragile mechanics of memory. The act of remembering is never a perfect scene, but a glitched assembly of scattered components. By investigating how these reconstructions often diverge from reality, he examines the reimagined moments we piece together to live as a whole, building bridges between collective history and personal experience.
