Istanbul based artist, designer & lecturer Utku Dedetaş was born in 1996 in Ankara. He completed his undergraduate studies in Industrial Design Department at Istanbul Bilgi University between 2014 and 2020. In 2024, he earned his master of fine arts degree from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Basic Art and Design. with 'Analysis of political and consumerist visual guidance in poster design since the 19th century' thesis study.

Between 2017 and 2023, he worked in various fields as an illustrator, industrial designer, and storyboard artist. Since 2019, he has been creating as an independent artist in Istanbul. He joined Istanbul Bilgi University’s Department of Industrial Design in 2024, instructing courses in Basic Design, second-year design studio, computational design, and portfolio design.

In his art, focusing on dreams, memories, and social encounters in everyday life, Dedetaş aims to find intersections of our realities, dreams and memories to make them visible. By exploring the collisions of curated memories, he builds bridges of magical realism between collective memory and personal narratives.
